The goal of this course is to equip students with programming ability and become familiar with data analysis and simulation skills.
Matlab will be used as the main programming platform in this course. Other than scientific calculation and simulations, Matlab is also suitable for handling finance problems. Compared with C++, Matlab has very similar syntax, yet, plotting graphics figures is very easy, suitable for programming beginners. In addition, Matlab language has very similar syntax as C++, and is easy to bridge between the two. In this course, students will learn to write programs and use computers to solve and analyze problems. By the end of the course, pragmatic problems will be given to the students to simulate and analyze using Matlab. The objective is to promote interest and establish practical programming skills for students that will enable them to perform programming tasks using Matlab or other high-level programming languages in the future.
